The year of birthday picture fails.

Remember when I promised to blog about my birthday, and never did?
Well, it's not because it wasn't amazing.
B bought me the best presents, took me to the best places to eat the best food, and legit planned me an entire surprise birthday party.
The best.
It seriously was so fun and so awesome.
And the reason it didn't get documented properly?
Lack of pictures.
Literally didn't have any.
Soooo...
No pics. No blog post.
I guess that's how we function around here.

Now.
Blake's birthday was this last Saturday, and we partied hard.
Like, stay in the Grand America, eat at nice restaurants, shop a lot, couple massages, tons of presents, family dinner, and just a lot of fun things in Provo, Park City, and SLC.
I even promised to give B whatever he wanted all weekend.
You better believe his foot was on my lap everytime we sat down,
foot massage time, obviously.
I've never given more back and feet massages in my whole freaking life!
Anyway.
Seems as if birthday pics are just NOT my thing.
Which is bizarre to me because I'm the picture fanatic of all picture fanatics.
But this weekend was an epic fail.

^^ oh, look... There we are in the massage room

^^at least the steak isn't pixelated.

^^ seriously, opening presents could not look any better.

^^"I don't think you're going to like that pic, B"

^^ But don't worry, I got a great picture of our hotel bathroom.

^^and at least we got this nice blurry picture of us.
I have officially deemed this the BEST picture taken all weekend.
I know.
So sad.

But Happy Birthday to my babe!!!
I love you to the moon and back and back to the moon and back, like 12 times.
25 is pretty dang old.
But it's never looked soooooooo good.
Muah!
You're my favorite person.

The cutest Fam fam!

A few weeks back, B and I went up the canyon with these hooligans to take some family pics for them.
I took the pictures.
And Lover Boy decided to get some video footage as well.
Hahaha there were so many moments were I was standing in front of them and B was behind them (you know, just both of us trying to get some good stuff)...
Me: "B...MOVE IT! You're in my pictures."
B: "Rik! YOU MOVE! You're in my video."

Hahahahaha, oh what a conflicted life we live.

Seriously.
B got the footage, but I put the video together.
B: "Wow, what an awesome video I filmed."
Me: "Wow, what an awesome video I put together."
So conflicted I tell you.
Teamwork and sharing credit has totally died a horrible death in the Sanford home.
:)

Anyway, we basically slapped this together super quick so they could have a little "home-video" of their fam and my sissy-in-law posted it on her bloggy soooo.... I just had to share.

They are the cutest.
And freaking Maylie?!
I die.
I'll take 12 please.

Ma new hurrr.

Well....there you have it kids.
10 inches, a million foils, 50 people telling me not to do it, and 3.5 hours later...
a new doooo.
I love it so much!

This is right after Morg just chopped off my locks before coloring it and styling it.
Scariest part you guys!
I was freaking out. and sweating. and freaking out.

And B has been a gem about it.
I know he's secretly sad inside,
but he's making me feel so great and I love him for it.
He even said he liked it!
Woot woot!

Sooooo, ya!
I'm in love.
And for those of you asking, I get my hair done at AMARA by Morgan Forsgren.
She's the best hair lady out there!!!
Seriously.
Buuuuut...
Have a happy Tuesday my friends!
I've been up since the butt crack of dawn studying for a test.
So hopefully your day has started off better than mine!
And I now promise to stop posting stuff about my hair.
Okay? OK.
Peace and love, killas!

10 Months!

We have officially made it to double digits, my friends!
I cooked 3 times in a row this week.
And we managed to keep our kitchen clean for a few days.
And our savings account is higher than it ever was when we were single.
Nothing but progress has been made in the last 10 months, I tell you.

But, B still hates when I say the words poo, panties or purse.
I'd be lying if I said I have found the cure for my emotional, birth control self.
And homework/grocery shopping still haven't worked their way up on the priority list...taking naps, playing games, hanging out and making out just can't be beat you guyz.

But....those aren't important.
Only the progress stuff is.

And Blake is in our room right now, at midnight, blasting his Josh Groban music.
I'm pretty sure he's cleaning.
Gosh I love that boy.

So here's to 10 months.
It's gonna be real sad in 2 months when we have to kiss our monthiversaries goodbye and become old, married people.

And also, I'm cutting my hair tomorrow.
EKKKK (!)
I'm so scared, and excited, and nervous, and ready for a change.
I'm already anticipating B trying to be real nice and say "cute hair, it's so cuuuuute" while fighting back tears of sadness.
But don't worry.
I already pinky swore and honest promised that I'd grow it back out again.
So I think he'll be okay.
But if you see him. Comfort him.
Please.
And we got a little crazy with the hair pics today.
Enjoy.

My mom calls that last one "the exorcism of Riki Sanford".

"welcome to our blog!" video

Yesterday, B and I put together this little video.
I have had this idea for a "welcome video" for the bloggy for awhile now.
So I was pretty stoked when the weather was great, and my babe was down to do a little shooting.
He's a tropper to put up with me.
And like, sooooo good looking.
I can't even stand it.
Hope you likey like!

It can also be found under our "about" tab.

Have a great Thursday my amigos!

Let's talk about that hair.

There's some serious controversy about my boy's hair.
It's a love/hate thing with most people.
It's all, "sweet hair man!"
or like,"ohhhhh. (pause) you're growing your hair out?"
(you know that awkward, "ummm ya, what of it?!" situation that i'm talkin bout??)

But it's whatever!
You can't please em all.
And one day he'll cut it.
After he can put it in a top knot for a solid year, probably.
(ps. I originally put "man bun" instead of "top knot"...B flipped! "a MAN BUN, Rik?!" sorry babe, I dunno what I was thinking).

Anyway.
 I love it.
I think it's sexy.
Like Brad Pitt sexy.
Plus.
boy's finally figuring out how good it feels for someone to play with your hair.
His hair-playing has significally increased in quality since he has started wanting the favor returned.
So ya, not mad about that.

And also,
he's suppressing my want for a little baby girl named Stella with hair that I can braid for days.
I'm happy to announce that I can french braid B's hair from top to bottom.

And since we're talking about baby girls....

:) :) :) :)

Stayed tuned for an extra exciting announcement from B and I tomorrow.
(eeeek!)

That last part was a total joke.
Sorry.
I couldn't resist.

Happy Sabbath.

Today while I was studying for a test in the kitchen,
B walked by, pulled out the cheese grater and said,
"I know this is cheesy, but I think you look grate".

He's literally the coolest person alive.

He literally can't remember my favorite movie!

So the other day I went to my Grannie's house to work on a quilt for a school project.
We were starving, so my babe came over and brought us dinner.
Then all of the sudden Grannie starts quizzing us on how well we know each other.
You guys...I nailed every question she asked me about Blake.
I'm not even kidding.
Both B and I were super surprised.
Buuuuut, I'm basically overly obsessed with B, so I guess it's not too surprising that I know literally everything about his life.
And then there's my husband.
Bless his soul.
Grannie: "So Blake, what's Riki's favorite movie?"
Blake: "The Proposal and What Happens in Vegas."
Me: "Baaaaabe! It's Hercules."
Blake: "it is?!"

I kid you not...
that exact situation has happened probably 5 times since we've been married.
He always says The Proposal and What Happens in Vegas.
And I always tell him that it's Hercules.

I can't wait for the day when someone asks him what my favorite movie is and he says Hercules.
I picture it being a moment where we give each other massive high fives and just bask in my boy's awesome memory.

And just for the record, he did pretty darn well on all the other questions.
Clearly he's equally as obsessed with me as I am with him.

And right now we're watching Hoarders.
There are giant rats running around this chicks house.
Oh Em GEEEEE.
We want to die.

And B just changed the channel to a cow show (?)
Blake: "oh look...he's calf way there."
Rik: "Seriously...they should make this into a mooooo-vie."
So punny, it's crazy loco.

8 things 8 things 8 things

#1 - Lover boy and I re-discovered Nickel City this weekend, and it's the best thing that has ever happened to us.

#2 - We won the jackpot. (twice.)

#3 - With our butt load of tickets, we bought giant playing cards...B beat me at speed with them though...but I don't even care, they're the FUNNEST thing to play with. And matching friendship bracelets...which we vowed to never ever take off, not ever. And 5 frooties.

#4 No shame in the fact that we went Friday...and Saturday...and already made plans to go for FHE.

#5 On Saturday, I made Blake come to the quilting store with me.
We were there for an hour.
Blake wanted to die.
I told him this is what it's like buying shoes with him.
He's all "do you like these? should I buy them? Let me look at these shoes for 5 more hours."
And I'm all "is this fabric cute? does it match this one? what about this?! Let's spend 5 hours making every cute quilt combo we can."
After about 45 minutes, B sincerely sincerely apologized for making me go through this everytime he buys shoes.

#6 While I was teaching dance on Saturday morning, B decided to go to a yard sale.
This is what he decided to buy.
It's pretty sweet actually.
And boy has big plans for all the cool stuff he's going to do with it.
But for now, we play the awesome game of, "Rik! imma see how far I can slingshot these balls and I need you go to fetch them."
So I run around the cul-de-sac like an idiot, trying to catch these balls being flung at me.
It's so fun.

#7 We can't stop eating the left over candy from our Halloween Party.
Someone please come over and take it away.

#8 I'm seriously debating cutting my hair.
I need a change.
I've had the same hair since the womb...I swear.
But B hates the idea.
It's like, ever since we got married, he feels like what's mine, is his.
Aka: my hair.
What?!
I'll give anyone a nickel to nickel city if you can name this movie,
"What ever happened to what's mine is yours, baby? We're married now, reemmeeemmber?"
Anyway, he might cry if I cut it....so maybe I won't.

Have a happy Monday my friends!
B and I might meet up with this sketchy guy from KSL to buy a new lens.
ekk!
Can't wait.
And also we're going to a Provo High Baseball Auction thingy.
Pray we don't find some stupid thing we don't need, but decide we can't live without, and bid our whole life savings away.
