2013 Christmas and a video

Oh hey, kids!!!
I have some catching up to do.
But for now?
Christmas Day.
It was the best ever.
B and I literally went crazy buying gifts.
For other people, but mostly for each other.
We both grew up in families where Christmas was a big deal.
So basically since we're married now, we felt solely responsible for each other and the continuing of the "big Christmas" tradition.
You know what I mean?
Well...
 we did really good.
Like, too good.
Like, we-need-to-not-buy-anything-for-the-next-8-months-to-practice-the-self-control-that-we-completely-lost-in-the-midst-of-Christmas-shopping, type of good.
And also, we completely spaced the fact that both our families continue to make Christmas a big deal.
Which resulted in a lot of presents from the family and the in-laws.
I've literally never gotten so much in my life.
And I've felt so overly blessed by the love and giving all around me.

And also.
I got to spend Christmas with both of my fams.
Which I love so much.
We opened presents just the two of us way early in the morning.
B is all, "I've never woken up this early on Christmas morning, but Riki does, so I guess I do too now."
He's a champ.
Then we did stockings with my family.
Then headed over to B's family to open presents, and play, and sleep, and eat.
Then back to my house to open more presents.
Then the Sanford's came over for a big turkey dinner and more fun.
I love so much that me and B's family are so close.
It's makes for easy holidays that are the best.
Thanks for the best Christmas ever, family!

And of course,
a video.
It's mostly just a little documentary for my family of our 2013 Christmas,
but you can watch too... if you want.
And if you watch carefully, you can figure out how to make the best eggnog on planet earth (special thanks to Sky boy...the best brother-in-law and eggnog maker ever!)
Here's a piccy.
(He's single my lady friends, and so rad).

Hope you all had the best Christmas surrounded by lots of love and warm fuzzies.
And Ry, Kay, and May Lady...you were missed, like soooo much!

Temple Square

Last night my family went up to SLC for some dinner at the roof and a nice stroll around temple square.
You could say it was a #greattimegreatexperience

^^ new camera lens for Christmas...please notice the nice focus here.

^^ B got grandma that scarf up there for Christmas.
I think she likes it.
It kept her nice and toooasty we hope!

^^Kaniki and her invisible date.
Oh the joys of being the youngest child...third wheel, always.

 ^^ so fetching pretty.
Something tells me that this picture of mine is worthy to be the backdrop for that, "if this isn't your castle, then you're not my prince" quote.

^^ a real life candid! not even posed or pre-planned. This may be a first.
And my hair. Some days I love it so much, some days I hate it.
Temple square night was, how you say....uhhhh, a hate day.

Thanks for a fun night, family!
Now...if only temple square was some kind of "Utah's best keep secret".
Then I could take pictures in peace and not feel like I'm being herded like a cute little cow.
But I hope everyone and their dog enjoyed it as much as I did.
It really is the prettiest thing!

Jam.

Currently in the process of making up a Christmas post.
There's so much to catch up on.
Aghhhhh!!
But only really good stuff,
so that's good.

In the meantime,
you've been missing out on stuff like this.

Last weekend I accidentally let the MAC people have at my lips.
I can't even tell you how many colors they were.
It was crazy.
And I literally, (like literally), hated every single color.
I'm a nude lips kinda person since the womb, I tell you.
And the worst part? I couldn't get it off.
Like my lips were literally (literally) stained red all night.
Gah.

B pretty much hated it too.
Quote, Blake Sanford...
"well...it's not really my jam. In fact, it literally looks like jam."

ahhh I laughed so hard.
How do you ladies pull off colored lips?!
I totally envy you.
I can't do it.
I just can't.

Anyway, hope you all are having the best Christmas break!
B and I stayed in bed till noon-thirty today.
It's the best best thing ever!!

Stay tuned for a Christmas Recap, and maybe a video?
Who knows... cleaning my house and cooking some treats is sounding better than editing footage.
ha! psyche!
That would be the day.
But on the reals,
hope you had the greatest Christmas!

Peace my homies.

Finals week is among us.

Tonight I was being snappy while doing the dishes.
B's like, "Rik, I'm sensing some serious tude".
I'm all, "Yes, I have some serious tude. Any way you can suck it out of me?!"

*a couple seconds later*
-cue Justin Beiber Christmas music blasting in our kitchen
while B massages my shoulders while I finish up the dishes.
Later, "tude".

Ah yes.
Finals week has come.
And my husband is a saint.
And I already feel bad for the times this week where my stress will get the best of me and B will have to deal with my attitude.
And I apologize in advance for the lack of blogging coming your way.
But hey, at least my dishes are done.

So...good luck to all the students out there this week.
Only 5 more days till we can fully enjoy this holiday season, school freeee!
May we all cram and cram some more.

Our first Christmas tree, and a VIDEO!

B and I finally got to decorating our Christmas tree this weekend.
And let me tell you...
it is really something else.
We really out did ourselves with some nice lights, a few boxes of green, red, and silver ball ornaments, some red mesh (which we didn't get enough of and deemed the ugliest stuff on planet earth...it wasn't you though, mesh, it was us. We just couldn't make you look good! and the roll of you ran out way too fast!!!), and don't forget the high quality (pre-made) bow we topped the tree off with.
Ahhh!
We love it so much!
One day, our Christmas tree will look like my momma's...it is my absolute favorite.
But until then, we'll enjoy our little Mr. Plump until we inevitably kill it before it's supposed to die.
Also, I think B might have slightly regretted getting such a plump tree when he realized there was literally no space for decorations because it is just so...dense.
yes, that is a nice word for it.
You live and learn, kids. Live and learn.

aaaaand I'm loving spending my first Christmas as a married lady with my hubby hubs.
He's so cool.
We could shop till we drop, and that's basically what we did this weekend.
I think buying presents for people is one of my favorite things to do.
I swap that visa like a crazy loco and love every second of it.
Hope you all are enjoying this holiday season.
and the SNOW! Oh the snow. I love you.

And this video.
No lie, it was sooo super fun to make.
And of course...some Christmas J-biebs!
We basically think he is the biggest punk on the planet these days,
but don't even get me started on his holiday jams.
I love.

Happy Monday, friends!
Hope you have a good one!

Nose hairs, so embarrassing.

Last night, B whipped out our pink sparkly tweezers.
Time to pluck Rik's eyebrows.
(I hate plucking, and B loooooves plucking my eyebrows. So clearly we are a match made in heaven).
All the sudden he starts freaking out, "Rik, pleeeease let me get this!"
as he starts bringing the tweezers towards my nose.
Oh ya.
Long nose hair alert.
I freaked.
Plucking nose hairs?!
No way.
So painful!!!
But B wanted to get it soooo bad.
And he promised to give me a 5 minute back tickle before bed if I let him get it.
And he also said,
"Rik, you need to hold still so I can grab this nose hair. We are a team, remember? Through thick and thin.
And. this. one. is. thiiiiiiick!"
Which made me laugh so hard and stupidly agree to the 5 minute back tickle in exchange for the nose hair plucking.
I had to let him get it, guys! Just because he is so funny and I love him that much.
And really, he gives the best back tickles.

Also, THIS happened a year ago today. So insane!

We got a plumper!

Great news.
We got a treeeeee!
And after spending some time picking it out,
then giving it a nice truck trim (thanks for the tip Mom!),
and spending forever trying to get it to sit straight on the stand...
we decided that was enough tree stuff for one night.
So...
Sorry decorations.
We care about you about as much as we care about cleaning our house right now.
yup.
zero, zip, zilch. NADA.
But I did feel bad that our beautiful tree has to stand there all naked-like till tomorrow night.
So I found some nice, festive ribbon and made a 2 second bow.
I know...I've really outdone myself.

And did I mention that we found the most perfectly PLUMP tree?!
That's what B kept saying.
"it needs to be plump, Rik".
And plump it is, my friends.
Gosh we love it so much.
I told my brother that our caring skills for our christmas tree this year will determine if we can have a baby or not.
He looked at me like I was an idiot.
As if caring for a tree is the same as caring for a baby.
But whatever.
We (meaning B) watered Mr. Plump tonight.
so we're basically well on our way to baby makin' material (!!!!)
Holla holla.

Coming home from vacations is equal to that of poking my eyes out.

I think it's no surprise to anyone that B and I would rather be anywhere but in Provo, UT...
Doing nasty stuff like homework.
And cooking (once a week).
And school.
And work.
Ew, Gross.
We looooove us some vacays, baby!!
Get us away from the usual, and we are just giddy people.

So for Thanksgiving break, my family, and B's family booked it out of p-town and headed to one of our fave places.
Ooohhh Moab, Utah...
How I frick-frakin love you so much.

This time we rented condos.
And brought more games than clothes.
(multiple people even asked me if I wore the same flannel shirt all weekend. Why yes, yes I did. And the same pair of underwear as well...haha jokes.)
And ate soooo much crap.
And Jeeped in the fa-reeeezing cold.
And ate a good ol' traditional steak dinner on Thanksgiving Day at the Moab Brewery.
I know, you guys.
It was perfect.

So basically coming home is the worst thing in the whole world.
Homework was put on hold all weekend and is causing me some serious stress right now, (I hate you so much homework).
And finals week is already looking like it's going to be a heck of beast.
And unpacking is so not as fun as packing is.
And I have to cook!
Ahhh. The horrible-ness.

But we're happy.
Why?
Because it's December.
Which, B and I have deemed "our month" since we love making out by the fireplace with some hot coco near by and Justin Bieber's Christmas album consists of most of our favorite love songs ever.
Cheesy? No.
Just so rad.
And also, I think we're going to get a christmas tree for our house tomorrow!
OMG.
It might not get decorated.
And B is really scared that we're gonna kill it.
He keeps telling everyone, "hopefully we can keep it alive."
Ya, like we would neglect something as important as keeping our precious christmas tree alive, babe!
Ya right.
We would never.

Anyway.
We love December.
And Hello! Cuddling at night is soooo much more fun in the Winter when it's so cold and your husband neeeeeds you to cuddle him to get warm!
My favorite thing.

And we're making a video of this weekend.
So staaay tuuuuned!
I know, the videos.
We can't stop.

And also, I think I say "and" as much as I said "like" in my high school years.
And isn't it like soooo grammatically incorrect to start a sentence with "and"?
Sorry, kids.

But, uh.
Hope you had the greatest Thanksgiving and have lots to be grateful for!
May we all be able to brave the last weeks of Fall semester in sanity and grace together.
