I wouldn't mind being Celine Dion in my next life.

Literally just spent the last 15 minutes writing all about our Vegas trip complete with what we did and when we did it. Then I thought,  "uh....Rik. No one really cares about what you did every second of everyday this weekend". WHAT?! You don't care?!
Whaaaa???

Aight cool. Highlights it is.

Hung out with these fools...

And this child...

Spent all day in Vegas and saw this show...

With this handsome boy...

And took pictures like this...

While we waited for the show to start.

To our dismay, this happened on our way back to St. G...

But luckily B-man (aka: boy who always gets pulled over but never gets a ticket) was driving...and we didn't get a ticket. Figures.

And every night ended with this...

We may or may not have watched them one night until 5am. You could say we're slightly obsessed. We're slowly converting May baby too. She stayed up and watched them with us too.

This was the first trip that lover boy and I have gone on where we didn't have anyone but us to worry about. Literally, it was the most laid back vacay I have ever had. We had zero plans and just did whatever the heck we wanted, whenever the heck we wanted. It was the best! That's what every vacay should be like, don'tcha think?!

Thanks to Ry and Kay and Maylie for letting us bum it at your house. You da best.

And um.. Hello! Celine Dion...she is amazing!!! Best concert I have ever been to in my entire life! And you know what? B even liked it too. Actually I'm pretty sure he loved it. I could tell by his request to play Celine Dion music while we drove home. Did I mention that the cheap tickets we bought were box seats?! Living under the stars killas. We are living under the stars.

Aaaaand. Just wanted to give a shout out to one of the most amazing people I know. My friendy friend, Kynsie, is leaving on a mission tomorrow and I'm so proud of her. I got to go to lunch with all my old roomates today and say goodby to one of my besties. She sure is going to be missed, but she is going to make the best missionary. Texas is lucky to get her, and I'm lucky to know her. I love you Kynsie girl!!!

Oh happy day.

{These things have made me a happy happy girl this past week}

Young one hates (and by hates, I mean she'd probably rather spend her time watching paint dry) Victoria's Secret. But this week...we HAD to go. There has been some serious need for a couple essentials...if ya know what I mean. Undies and Bras, to be exact. It truly made me laugh so hard to walk into her dressing room to find her standing there just staring at the "goodies" the VS workers brought her. Uh nik...those things ain't gonna try themselves on...

Love the little random dates I get to go on with the child. This week? Crepes. We ended up chillin there for an extra 15 minutes hoping that our chores would do themselves if we waited long enough. That didn't work...but we seriously gave it a honest effort.

Went here twice in the last three days. Now if that doesn't make someone happy...I dunno what will!
I love the little old people that work in the baptistry.

"Young lady, hand me your recommend and let's see if you're worthy to be here"
*I hand it to him*
"And you are...?"
I say, "Erika Laws."
*awkward silence*

Later I realized it was more like this...
"Young lady, hand me your recommend and let's see if you're worthy to be here"
*I hand it to him*
"And you are!!!"
"Erika Laws."

*of course there's awkward silence*
You see the difference there??
My bad.

Anyone else in Provo see this killer double rainbow on Tuesday?
So Tizzziiiight!

Love sweet parents that are buddies with the roomies. Love even more that Madre and Lush beat Delbs and Dadio.
Let's be honest.
Dad losing in fooseball is about as rare as me thinking about running a marathon.
It happened once.
It ain't ever happening again.

Love hanging out with this handsome boy everyday. I mean look at that face! Who wouldn't? Seriously though. Who wouldn't?
We're headed out of town tonight to visit some fam fam.
And watch Celine put on a show show.
Cool? Cool.

July 25, 2012

I [mustache] you a question...but I'm [shavin'] it for later.

I don't like to brag.
Ever.
Bragging is lame.
Bragging ain't cool.
Bragging and bragging makes you look like a fool.
Peeps just shouldn't ever do it.
Just sayin.

Okay. On that note, I just want to tell you how totally sweet and groovy my family is.
They're the best.
Probably better than yours.
The best.
Like WAY better than yours.
Just sayin.

Just got back from the Laws 2012 family reunion. Theme? Mustaches. Why? In honor of the Grandad. He rocked some serious staches in his lifetime. I sure do miss that man.

Was seriously so blessed to be surrounded by these beauts all weekend.

Activities included...{but are not limited to}

Bridge Jumping

Long bus rides with the WHOLE fam to see some pretty pretty waterfalls and that one gyser...seriously such a Faithful ol' thing.

Engineering project...rolling egg course style. Brought to you by the Dadio.
Yay for family bonding and team unity.
Unfortunatley, I chose an egg that was bred to easily break and be someones omlette...
not the kind that are bred to roll down intense courses without having it's shell break.
What are the odds?!
The insanity.

Bike rides, hair braiding, canoes, and a slack rope (kids were literally doing backflips off this thing). Can you say WOWZA?! It's a miracle no child was rushed to the E.R. this weekend...the mustache gods were watching over us.

And the best part? A contest to see who could dress up the most like Grannie and Grandad in their glory days.
Seriously was laughing so hard.

Here's chief Dave. He did done good, don'tcha think?

Who decided to bless their child the same night as the costume party??
Lucky little cousin Lauren was surrounded by a bunch of look-a-like Grandad's while being blessed.
Poor kid's gonna look at her blessing day photo and wonder what generation she was born in.

Add some tennis, horse shoes, ping pong (say hello to a semi-finalist...must be the Asian blood), delicious food, lots of injuries, bracelet making, potato gun, tramp jumping, volleyball, piano playing, pool games, sleeping in tents, being blown over by a micro burst, a million little kids, and crazy aunts and uncles and you basically get the gest of how my weekend went.

Like I said...my family is better than yours.

Shout out to Uncle Q for planning a stellar reunion.

And I'd also like to thank Uncle Dru for being a loyal blog reader and giving me the 'funniest blog' award. It's probably the most rare and special award in the entire universe.
And for that, I'm giving him the 'favorite uncle' award.
You rock Dru-be-doo-be-doo.

Hope you had a fab weekend killas!
xoxo
rik.

aaaaaand! Happy 50th anniversary to the best Grannie and Grandad ever. I love you Grannie! I miss you Grandad!

The heat stroker...

Oh hey there! Riki here. Just returned from St. Geezy and just wanted to share some pics with you! My momma always taught me that sharing was the nice thing to do. So here I am...being nice.

I went to St. George with the Sanford boys for a softball tounament called the Heat Stroker. It's a huge tournament that is played all Friday and Saturday night. B told me that if I survived this weekend, I was eligible to be married to him. The "final test",  if you will. I can see how it could be a rough weekend. Friday night their games ended at 5am, Saturday night we were done at 4am. If you know me at all...you'll know that I am SOOOOO not a night person. Get me to bed by midnight and I'm about as happy as Elmo on laughing gas. Point is...B knew this weekend would be hard for me. But guess what? It wasn't! I got to hangout with my man and watch him play softball, spent some quality time with my sissy Kaylyn, my cute niece Maylie, and my bro bro, we shopped, ate, and slept till noon. Not mad. Aaaand, I only slept through 2 games! 2!!! I was impressed, and apparently boyfriend was too. He said I passed the test with flying colors. You know what that means?  You got it. Expect a wedding soon. Real soon.

I was kidding about the wedding! But hey, it's nice to know that I'm offically eligible.
Sorry about the lack of pics I took. Wasn't on my A-game.

Thanks to the Sanfords for letting me bum along on their trippy trip...they're the best fam.

Here's a video boyfriend got of me in all my sleepy glory. Hot dang.

There are those blasted pimples again. Sure do love them.
Glad I ended that video with a sweet pose.

{Today B and I got tickets to go see my home girl Celine Dion put on a show in Vegas. I'm more stoked than you can even imagine.}

July 12, 2012

Here and there and everywhere.

Here are some pictures that didn't quite make it into the "you're-cool-enough-to-be-made-into-your-very-own-blog-post" club. I wouldn't exactly call them junk...but they didn't quite get the BPP (blog post pic) stamp either. Why didn't they get the stamp? Reasons may include, but are not limited to, me being too lazy to blog, no creative reference to the bachelorette, me being too lazy to blog and/or me being too lazy to blog.  Regardless...here they are. Reppin' the BPP stamp like they've been doing it all their whole life. Work it baby work it.

Me, Ali-bama!, Brundun, and B took a little hike to Stuart Fall a few weeks ago.
It was more of a walk.
I wasn't complaining.

We've done smarter things than climbing up this cliff of death.
Ever since I've been daing B...he's gotten all "protective" on me.
He basically made me climb back down before attempting to take a risky step to the top.
Something about not wanting me to face plant into the sharp rocks at the bottom of the waterfall.
I wouldn't of done it anyways...I was too scurrred.
But his concern for my life was comforting.
Like the 3rd parent I've never had.
Jk.
It's cute. And I like it.
A lot.

Look at that picture quality on the left up there. Iphone...you've really out done yourself this time.

We went to RC Willey's the other day to test out some mattresses.
B needs a new one.
His dad bought him a new queen size bed for his full size mattress.
If you do the math right...that means his current mattress is too too small.
Somehow we ended up on these sweet awesome massage chairs.
We chilled for a solid 30 minutes.

Yesterday we went for a swimmy swim in my neighbors pool.
We played lots of games. Races and such.
B has really good handstands.
My favorite game we played was invented by yours truly.
I haven't given it an offical name yet, but I was thinking of calling it "I'll pretend to drown and let's see if you can save me"---you like that??
Anyways...B won. He saved me.
Except for at the end when he swam me to a high ledge and told me to hang onto it.
"uhhh...how am I supposed to hang onto this ledge when I'm a drowned person?"
I think he thought I was just pretending to be a dumb person who was swimming in too deep of water but who was fully conscious.
I was thinking he was going to pull me out of the water with his big muscles and then give me CPR by the pool side.
I'll be sure to clarify the rules next time.
He did compliment my acting skills though.
So I'll consider my game a success.

Went to lunch with these beauts today.
They've been like my second set of sisters ever since I was in elementary school.
I love them.

I've been missing the young child all week.
She's at BYU track camp.
You wanna know the difference between her and I?
She pays money to go run for hours out in the hot hot sun.
I'd rather watch grass die.

Have a happy day kids. I'm off to St. G tonight.
Holla.

July 10, 2012

I'm a fan.

Boyfriend and I went to Guru's to feed our starving selves. One cilantro lime quesadilla for me. A chicken teriyaki bowl for him. Usually I'm the cilantro lime quesadilla's biggest fan. I'd stand behind it anytime, anywhere. Uhhhh...until I tasted the chicken bowl, that is. Let me put this into perspective for you. If the quesadillas were Arie, the chicken bowl would be "one f Jef". Ya...they're that much better (and hotter and sexier and funnier and less sweaty).

During conversation, I sneakily switched my plate and B's plate so I didn't have to reach over my sad sad quesadillas to get to B's food anymore. B picked up those quesadillas and ate them like nothing even happened. My boy sure knows how to treat me right...sharing his chicken bowl and all. I've dubbed him a keeper only about 20 million times.

July 9, 2012

Yay yay yay.

Went to Vegas this week with some of my favorite peeps EVA!!

It was so hot. Sooooooooo hot. Like 108 degrees fahrenheit hot. Pretty much miserable weather if you don't have a pool handy. Good thing we had one. We weren't miserable at all. Unless you consider laying by a legit pool, surrounded by friends, tanning your skin, and drinking delicious strawberry mango smoothies miserable. In that case, we pretty much died of misery.

This is me playing volleyball. Check. out. that. form. Don't ask me why I didn't play water volleyball in High School. I haven't the slightest clue. I should have though. My team dominated. It's probably because I was a team captain and picked good teammates. My tactic: pick men. The kind of men that'll let me show of my good moves, such as this one here. Got us a point everytime.

As a side note: I don't like water volleyball much. Let me tell you why. You know in your dreams when a bad guy is chasing after you. No matter how hard you try, your legs just don't run away fast enough. I got that feeling playing water volleyball. A lot. The ball would literally be 2 feet away from me, but I couldn't get to the ball fast enough because of the dang water. Not a good feeling. Teammates would tell me to hustle and get my head in the game. Well you know what team? I am hustling!  Running through water just isn't my forte, aight?

B got roasted. I'm currently dating a lobster.

Once we got stuck in traffic on our way to The Cheesecake Factory. Lucky for us, Ceasar's Palace was putting on the most phenomenal firework show. Seriously, it was unreal. It might have been better than the Stadium of Fire. The sky was sparkling. SPARKLING.

Somehow, this lovely pic of me is the only capture of shopping we got. But boy did we shop. I got some killer deals on some killer articles of clothing. And hey! You wanna know who the best shopping partner is? B! He's my favorite person to shop with. Gets me different sizes while I'm in the dressing room..."Rik...I've gone back so many times, I can basically tell what size stuff is without even looking at the tag". Tells me what looks good and gives his honest opinion (even though he knows I'll get whatever I want, regardless of what advice he gives). He knows my style so well he'll even pick out some stuff on his own to have me try on (bought a sweet shirt and some legit kicks thanks to him). He can even shop for about as long as I can. Which is saying something. He most definetly amps up my shopping experiences.

All in all, the goal of roasting my skin and emptying my wallet was met. Yay for reaching and accomplishing goals.

I didn't want to come home.

But hey, we got St. Geezy next week, and Idaho the next. Yay for summer vacas.

And can we get one more "yay" for my car? The little cutie made it all the way to Vegas on one tank of gas. We too cool for gas stations.

YAY.

July 6, 2012

Lush has [yet another] blonde moment.

Tay left me this note in the attempt to try and trick me into eating some nasty expired graham crackers.

Me: "Tay, you spelled Graham wrong."
Lush: "Ya Tay, you forgot the N."

???????????

Have a happy weekend folks! I'll be spending mine in Las Vegas with some of my favorite peeps. Can't wait to fry my skin and empty my wallet.
La revedere, forte cele buna!
[That's literally all the Romanian I remember from the language class I took last winter. Crap.]

July 5, 2012

You rock America.

America is the greatest, isn't it? Not only are we blessed to live in this beautiful country BUT we also get a reason to stay up for 2 days straight, party on the streets, watch parades, launch hot air ballons, light firworks, rock the fake tattooooos, get embraced by Jef Holm's right arm (Happy Biiiirthday America!), and watch instagram explode with pics of fireworks and DIY american flag projects. It truly is the best.

Hope you had a stellar holiday young people.
I sure did.
