Oh Lachelly.

This beaut turned 21 today. 21! Can you believe that??

In honor of Lush, I'll tell you some cool things about her.
Also included, for your enjoyment, are the ugliest pics of us....

Once, Lachelly asked me what the stuff is called that you floss your teeth with.

Once, Lachelly didn't know if New Mexico was in the United States.

Once, Lachelly lost a bet to me about what city she was born in.

Once, Lachelly washed her car at a gas station with the gas pump thinking it was water.

Once, Lachelly had to talk to our health teacher after class because she put "examine your testes monthy" on the question "What are 3 ways to take care of the female body".

Once, Lachelly "double-spaced" a paper by putting two spaces in between each word instead of between each line.

Once, Lachelly thought frozen dinners were all dinners that you ate while they were still frozen.

Once, Lachelly signed her name on her drivers license and completely spelled her last name wrong.

Once, Lachelly was scared to marry a black person because the right side of their baby would be all white, and the other half would be all black.

Once, Lachelly asked how water bottles get cold in the fridge if they have their lids on.

Once, Lachelly asked what the time difference from St. George to Provo was.

And guess what else?

Once, Lachelly cleaned my whole room as a surprise because I was stressed with finals.

Once, Lachelly bought me tickets to a New York Giants game.

Once, Lachelly came home from New York for a vacation and COMPLETELY surprised me.

Once, Lachelly dyed my hair for me.

Once, Lachelly shared a bed with me for a whole summer.

And lastly...

Lachelly lets me wear and borrow her clothes.

Lachelly tells me how cool I am, or how stupid I'm being.

Lachelly is the best cleaner.

Lachelly is the best with kids.

Lachelly is the most thoughtful person.

 Lachelly makes me laugh.

and Lachelly is my BEST FRIEND!!!!

I'm seriously you guys.

I love her so much.

Wish her a Happy Birthday, won't ya?

July 27, 2012

Oh happy day.

{These things have made me a happy happy girl this past week}

Young one hates (and by hates, I mean she'd probably rather spend her time watching paint dry) Victoria's Secret. But this week...we HAD to go. There has been some serious need for a couple essentials...if ya know what I mean. Undies and Bras, to be exact. It truly made me laugh so hard to walk into her dressing room to find her standing there just staring at the "goodies" the VS workers brought her. Uh nik...those things ain't gonna try themselves on...

Love the little random dates I get to go on with the child. This week? Crepes. We ended up chillin there for an extra 15 minutes hoping that our chores would do themselves if we waited long enough. That didn't work...but we seriously gave it a honest effort.

Went here twice in the last three days. Now if that doesn't make someone happy...I dunno what will!
I love the little old people that work in the baptistry.

"Young lady, hand me your recommend and let's see if you're worthy to be here"
*I hand it to him*
"And you are...?"
I say, "Erika Laws."
*awkward silence*

Later I realized it was more like this...
"Young lady, hand me your recommend and let's see if you're worthy to be here"
*I hand it to him*
"And you are!!!"
"Erika Laws."

*of course there's awkward silence*
You see the difference there??
My bad.

Anyone else in Provo see this killer double rainbow on Tuesday?
So Tizzziiiight!

Love sweet parents that are buddies with the roomies. Love even more that Madre and Lush beat Delbs and Dadio.
Let's be honest.
Dad losing in fooseball is about as rare as me thinking about running a marathon.
It happened once.
It ain't ever happening again.

Love hanging out with this handsome boy everyday. I mean look at that face! Who wouldn't? Seriously though. Who wouldn't?
We're headed out of town tonight to visit some fam fam.
And watch Celine put on a show show.
Cool? Cool.

Here and there and everywhere.

Here are some pictures that didn't quite make it into the "you're-cool-enough-to-be-made-into-your-very-own-blog-post" club. I wouldn't exactly call them junk...but they didn't quite get the BPP (blog post pic) stamp either. Why didn't they get the stamp? Reasons may include, but are not limited to, me being too lazy to blog, no creative reference to the bachelorette, me being too lazy to blog and/or me being too lazy to blog.  Regardless...here they are. Reppin' the BPP stamp like they've been doing it all their whole life. Work it baby work it.

Me, Ali-bama!, Brundun, and B took a little hike to Stuart Fall a few weeks ago.
It was more of a walk.
I wasn't complaining.

We've done smarter things than climbing up this cliff of death.
Ever since I've been daing B...he's gotten all "protective" on me.
He basically made me climb back down before attempting to take a risky step to the top.
Something about not wanting me to face plant into the sharp rocks at the bottom of the waterfall.
I wouldn't of done it anyways...I was too scurrred.
But his concern for my life was comforting.
Like the 3rd parent I've never had.
Jk.
It's cute. And I like it.
A lot.

Look at that picture quality on the left up there. Iphone...you've really out done yourself this time.

We went to RC Willey's the other day to test out some mattresses.
B needs a new one.
His dad bought him a new queen size bed for his full size mattress.
If you do the math right...that means his current mattress is too too small.
Somehow we ended up on these sweet awesome massage chairs.
We chilled for a solid 30 minutes.

Yesterday we went for a swimmy swim in my neighbors pool.
We played lots of games. Races and such.
B has really good handstands.
My favorite game we played was invented by yours truly.
I haven't given it an offical name yet, but I was thinking of calling it "I'll pretend to drown and let's see if you can save me"---you like that??
Anyways...B won. He saved me.
Except for at the end when he swam me to a high ledge and told me to hang onto it.
"uhhh...how am I supposed to hang onto this ledge when I'm a drowned person?"
I think he thought I was just pretending to be a dumb person who was swimming in too deep of water but who was fully conscious.
I was thinking he was going to pull me out of the water with his big muscles and then give me CPR by the pool side.
I'll be sure to clarify the rules next time.
He did compliment my acting skills though.
So I'll consider my game a success.

Went to lunch with these beauts today.
They've been like my second set of sisters ever since I was in elementary school.
I love them.

I've been missing the young child all week.
She's at BYU track camp.
You wanna know the difference between her and I?
She pays money to go run for hours out in the hot hot sun.
I'd rather watch grass die.

Have a happy day kids. I'm off to St. G tonight.
Holla.

July 9, 2012

Yay yay yay.

Went to Vegas this week with some of my favorite peeps EVA!!

It was so hot. Sooooooooo hot. Like 108 degrees fahrenheit hot. Pretty much miserable weather if you don't have a pool handy. Good thing we had one. We weren't miserable at all. Unless you consider laying by a legit pool, surrounded by friends, tanning your skin, and drinking delicious strawberry mango smoothies miserable. In that case, we pretty much died of misery.

This is me playing volleyball. Check. out. that. form. Don't ask me why I didn't play water volleyball in High School. I haven't the slightest clue. I should have though. My team dominated. It's probably because I was a team captain and picked good teammates. My tactic: pick men. The kind of men that'll let me show of my good moves, such as this one here. Got us a point everytime.

As a side note: I don't like water volleyball much. Let me tell you why. You know in your dreams when a bad guy is chasing after you. No matter how hard you try, your legs just don't run away fast enough. I got that feeling playing water volleyball. A lot. The ball would literally be 2 feet away from me, but I couldn't get to the ball fast enough because of the dang water. Not a good feeling. Teammates would tell me to hustle and get my head in the game. Well you know what team? I am hustling!  Running through water just isn't my forte, aight?

B got roasted. I'm currently dating a lobster.

Once we got stuck in traffic on our way to The Cheesecake Factory. Lucky for us, Ceasar's Palace was putting on the most phenomenal firework show. Seriously, it was unreal. It might have been better than the Stadium of Fire. The sky was sparkling. SPARKLING.

Somehow, this lovely pic of me is the only capture of shopping we got. But boy did we shop. I got some killer deals on some killer articles of clothing. And hey! You wanna know who the best shopping partner is? B! He's my favorite person to shop with. Gets me different sizes while I'm in the dressing room..."Rik...I've gone back so many times, I can basically tell what size stuff is without even looking at the tag". Tells me what looks good and gives his honest opinion (even though he knows I'll get whatever I want, regardless of what advice he gives). He knows my style so well he'll even pick out some stuff on his own to have me try on (bought a sweet shirt and some legit kicks thanks to him). He can even shop for about as long as I can. Which is saying something. He most definetly amps up my shopping experiences.

All in all, the goal of roasting my skin and emptying my wallet was met. Yay for reaching and accomplishing goals.

I didn't want to come home.

But hey, we got St. Geezy next week, and Idaho the next. Yay for summer vacas.

And can we get one more "yay" for my car? The little cutie made it all the way to Vegas on one tank of gas. We too cool for gas stations.

YAY.

Lush has [yet another] blonde moment.

Tay left me this note in the attempt to try and trick me into eating some nasty expired graham crackers.

Me: "Tay, you spelled Graham wrong."
Lush: "Ya Tay, you forgot the N."

???????????

Have a happy weekend folks! I'll be spending mine in Las Vegas with some of my favorite peeps. Can't wait to fry my skin and empty my wallet.
La revedere, forte cele buna!
[That's literally all the Romanian I remember from the language class I took last winter. Crap.]

You rock America.

America is the greatest, isn't it? Not only are we blessed to live in this beautiful country BUT we also get a reason to stay up for 2 days straight, party on the streets, watch parades, launch hot air ballons, light firworks, rock the fake tattooooos, get embraced by Jef Holm's right arm (Happy Biiiirthday America!), and watch instagram explode with pics of fireworks and DIY american flag projects. It truly is the best.

Hope you had a stellar holiday young people.
I sure did.

June 29, 2012

I live with crazies.

Lachelle aka: Lush. She is cool because she cleans our room when she doesn't have work. Yesterday she even dusted.

Tay aka: Nugget. She is cool because once she made me chicken spinach quesadillas and let me pull out all the spinach.

Shelby aka: Delbs. She is cool because she likes my legs. "Your legs are big, but they don't touch so it makes them look small. I LOVE that."

Taylor writes everyone cute notes, except for me and Lush. Shelby also writes everyone cute notes, except for me and Lush. Lush and I don't ever get cute notes from anyone. That's okay though, we enjoy being the co-presidents of the "cute notes are for losers" club.

Taylor: "Rik, can I borrow a shirt?"
Me: "Ya sure, try this one."
Taylor: "I can't wear that, I have broad shoulders, like a man."
Me: "Good thing I bought it from the man section"
Taylor: "It won't fit my shoulders, they're like guy shoulders."
Me: "Tay, it's a guy shirt."
Taylor: "But I have guy shoulders!"
???????
She never did wear my shirt...

Sure do love me some roommates.

We're jeeping fools, ya know?

My dad is a jeep fanatic. Seriously. Fanatic is probably an understatement. No family needs 3 jeeps. No family but mine, of course.  So naturally my dad picks Moab as his vaca of choice to celebrate his dad day. So a bunch of my friendy friends drove down to Moab with me to celebrate Dave's day. We had so much fun. We sang and danced in the car 100 miles past our destination. Don't ask me how we managed to do that, but boyfriend was not super thrilled at 1 in the a.m. when I told him we were 100 miles past Moab. OOHHHHH Colorado...you were a lovely surprise to our little trip.

Jeeping is one of my favorite things to do. It's even funner with peeps you love and a group of 12 jeeps. Thanks Chief Dave for the best celebration of Spring Semester being over and Father's Day. I love you so much!!

Also, a big thank you to Little Miss May for letting me use her sunscreen. I was highly anticipating the muchly needed tan I would have from being in the sun. However, her SPF 10000000000 sunscreen prevented any sun...whatsoever. I think I came home whiter than when I left.

But how could you be mad at that face?! She's the cutest baby alive. So glad this lil' nugget came with us. We're breaking her into Jeeping real quick.

June 24, 2012

A decade plus another one.

That's right. Two decades together equals twenty years. TWENTY! Hot dang. I'm a twenty year old.  I had a really cool birthday too. Started off with a 12:00 birthday song sung by the boyfriend [who never sings and has the voice of an angel :)] while a virtual cupcake danced on his computer screen. A 6 am wake-up from my 3 friendies who snapped lots of pics of me in all my morning glory, made me dress up in old dance costumes, and took me to Kneaders. Lots of presents from the best little sister ever.  Lush and I laid in bed and sang songs at the top of our lungs until we decided to get up for the day and wax off our upper lip hair (random...I know, but it hurt like a mother, and I highly do NOT recommend it).  Went to school..BOOOOO, but left early to go get sushi with my Padre. He's the best. Rode down the canyon on longboards with boyfriend and went for a hike to this sweet little waterfall. At the end of our ride, he gave me a clue, left me all alone, and sent me on a scavenger hunt. After driving all around Provo, I ended up at his house where he gave me my present, showered me with hugs and kisses and about a million "happy birthday's". Then we ventured over to my house where Lush and the fam planned a BBQ with all the amigos. We tramp jumped, rode around in a mini bus, laugh and chitchatted, went to go get snowcones (but they were closed), and somehow, in all the madness, I ended up at Blake's house with him all to myself. We probably watched a movie. I don't remember. We probably made-out too. It was my birthday, so we basically had to. All-in-all....it was the best 20th birthday I have ever had.

B made me this key chain...equip with pennies from the year I was born and the year he was born. Such a creative boy I'm dating. AND this Herschel backpack that I've been wanting for forever. Dang it makes me looks good at school. It really does...it truly truly does.

Here's a video you can watch, if you feel so inclined too. But please, ignore the zits that are lovin my face these days. I'm hoping that now that I'm 20, they'll realize how old and mature I am and decide to go bug some little girl in Jr. High or something. I wouldn't even feel bad...we all had to deal with it back in those days.
