Don't ask me.

If you were to ask me why I suck at blogging lately, this is what I would tell you....

I know, I know!
I'm so bad.
There's just not enough time.
I have four, FOUR! (like one, two, three, FOUR) jobs and I might be going a little loco.
And a month ago I had this really ambitious idea to study for and take the GRE.
Idk...I was just feeling really determined and thought I would have the desire and time to study for it.
Like I thought I'd come home from work at 11:00 every night and would want to stay up memorizing definitions of english words that no one ever uses.
And I just thought that on my free weekends I would want to spend my time doing a million math problems over and over.
And I just thought that Thanksgiving and Christmas time would be the perfect "non busy" time to study!
hahahaha what the freak-a-leak was I thinking?!
I probably ended up studying for a total of 5 hours.
And I sure as heck couldn't BLOG in my free time because then my subconscious would tell me that if I had time to blog, then I had time to study.
And I didn't want to study.
I wanted to sleep.
And clean my house.
And makeout with B.
So that's what I did instead of blogging and studying.
All those way important other things.
I literally forgot when my GRE was even scheduled for.
I went to check my schedule one day and realized that the test was in 2 days!
Don't ask me how I spaced it.
I'm going crazy I tell you.
But I took the GRE yesterday. And it went about as well as I was expecting. I didn't exactly bomb it, but I definitely didn't rock it.
Did you know the questions in the GRE are based on how well you answer the previous questions?
Like they get/stay hard if you answer correctly, and get easier if you answer previous questions wrong.
So at about the 4th hour into the test, my math questions started getting real easy.
And you know what that means.
eff. eff. eff.
But all I could really think about was how hungry I was.
And how excited I was to get the freak out of there.

Luckily, most people take the GRE twice.
So I have another shot at it.
We'll call that last test a great practice test :)
My plan is to take it when I have 75% less jobs and maybe not schedule it around my favorite holidays.

Also, I spent way too much time googling dogs.
I'm obsessed and could probably tell you about every dog breed in the world.
So we also have that to blame for my lack of blogging and awesome GRE score.

And don't forget online shopping for Christmas presents.
AHHHHHH! I could easily spend one million dollars on Blakers and my friends and family for Christmas.
It needs to come fast before I spend all of our dollas.

So ya!
Unless you want to hear about the GRE, what types of dogs are hypoallergenic, how time consuming being a Jazz Dancer is, or a list of all the Christmas presents I have bought...then don't bring up the "no blogging" issue.

We don't even have a Christmas Tree up yet.
My loco mind even suggested we don't get a tree this year since it's so late.
But then my husband called me The Grinch.
And in my mind I thought of all the presents "The Grinch" has bought him for Christmas and then wanted to tackle him for calling me that.
But then I realized that it's un-human to NOT get a Christmas tree.
So, hopefully we get one before Christmas because I'm not a Grinch.

Happy Sunday, friends.
I posted 3 blog posts tonight.
Happy happy. Joy joy.

P.S. Blake had a headache today in church and asked if I would rub this sore spot on his head.
But then this old couple looked at me and said, "stop massaging his head, this isn't a massage parlor."
And my jaw kinda of dropped.
And then they told B that it was "sacrilegious" of us to be doing that.
And then we watched them doze off and look at their iPads for the rest of the meeting.
And I'm just real proud of my hubby for not calling them out even though we were both pretty ticked about the whole thing.

Last night.

I just found this in my "drafts" section. I'm not quite sure when I wrote it but it pretty much sounds like every other day of my life :)

So....
Jazz practice.
I love it.
But most days, it kicks my butt!
6 pm to 10 pm of dancing.
and a killer workout to start it off.
I'm sweating buckets within the first 30 minutes!
Last night was particularly hard for some reason.
I think it was because the workout was freaking tough, I was starvin' marvin, and it was my day to drive.
Since practice is in Bountiful, us Provo peeps carpool.
It's the best thing.
Save on gas and just chillax while you get taken to and from practice.
But I hate when it's my driving day!
The drive home after practice always seems so long to me when I'm driving!
Anyway.
Yesterday was just exhausting.
And the point of this post?
Not to complain (although that's what its sounding like! I'm actually looooooving dancing for the Jazz, like LOVE! so don't get me wrong.)
I just want to praise that sweet freaking husband of mine.
Not only did he make the yummiest grilled cheese sandwich for me.
But he also let me vent to him about how tired my body was.
And he gave me a head massage. (my favorite thing!!)
and didn't even complain when I didn't have energy to shower (and I'm sure I was staaaanky).

And that's the end of my awesome draft.
The take away?
B is my numero uno and I often go to bed smelling no bueno.

MOAABBB!

A few weeks ago, the Laws/Sanford clan and friends headed down to Moab.
 My family loves that place.
I remember being a little girl and being super duper sad that all of our family vacations consisted of MOAB.
I mean, could we not throw a beach trip with some shopping in there?!
Jkjk...we did. and did lots of other fun stuff too.
But I think Moab is our most vacationed spot, wouldn't you say, mom?
But honestly, I love that place.
And it warms my soul right up that I married a man whose family loves it too.

^^this little trooper has been jeeping with us since day one. That's how me and B's kids are gonna be. Out of the womb, into the car seat, and buckled into the jeep ;)
Speaking of kids, had a dream last night that I was preggo and I woke up all sorts of excited. (whaaa?)
I think it's because we can't get a dog. And I have no Christmas tree to care for. So....a baby?!

^^ This is my bro bro Ry Ry who I love so bery bery much.
^^And this is kater-tot and I love her a lot. Mostly because she's hilarious and nicknamed me Rik-a-Dik before knowing what the word "dik" may or may not imply. But don't worry, we informed her. And she still calls me rik-a-dik because it just "rolls off the tongue".  Hahaha I LOVE HER.

^^Match made in heaven I tell you.

^^These two are cuties. Young love...can't help but make you smile, am I right?

So there you have it!
The billioneth Moab trip in the books!

Future children of mine...
I promise to take you on trips to the beach with lots of great shopping.
But you better freaking love Moab or else you're gonna hate the majority of our family vacations.
mmmmkay? Love you bunches.

Also, I don't know what all this kid talk is about.

Being Better.

B and I have been blessed with some pretty amazing friends.
The other night we were driving home from a Jazz game (they all came to watch and support...how awesome are they?!) and we started talking about the gospel.
We all decided that we need to step it up, be better and try harder.
We decided to start having FHE as a group on Monday nights at 10:00 in an effort to be better.
This Monday was our first group FHE and it was so so so so awesome.
Meggy had the lesson and we talked about service and how it's the small and simple things that can really add up.
We all wrote down a list of things we are going to do this week to serve those around us and we're going to report to everyone next week.
So far, it's be awesome.
B went and got me some food at 11:30 on Tuesday night cuz I was starving and exhausted.
He would have done it anyway, but I'm all, "wow...look at you SERVE!"
Then I gave him a 30 min. foot massage free of charge, and he's all, "service is GREAT!"

Also...we're all stoked on that pic up there.
One day, five thousand FHE's later, we'll look at that piccy and be like, wow...we were so good looking and young and youthful and little and young.

Also, Jen and baby East...you were missed.
Jesse was sad without you.

Now....go serve, kids.
And you're all welcome to FHE if you need a little something something to help you be better.
Plus...Meggy brings treats. And sweats are encouraged. And we're all pretty funny dang funny.

Halloween 2014

This year, we decided to do something a little more intimate and less crazy loco than last year's Halloween Party (click here to read Halloween 2013)
So we invited some of our close friends over for dinner and some games.
I spent all freaking day putting together that dinner table up there and was so happy with how it all turned out.

This year, we were a utah jazz dancer and a basketball player.
It was way WAY last second, but turned out to be easy peasy.
Also, I was a box last year for Halloween, so I didn't feel too bad about making B put on that awesome bike-a-tard and beautiful wig.
And those hairy arm pits and face scruff of his just really finish off the look.

Also, I didn't get pics of everyone, SORRY FRIENDS!!!

For one of the games, we put together a scavenger hunt.
I highly (highly!) recommend it for anyone putting on a party.
You guys. It was so. much. fun.
We gave each couple a list of items to accomplish in 40 minutes and each item had a different point value.
The couple with the most points, wins the game.
At the end of the list, I added some pretty ridiculous things with some high point values.
Like...run two miles, jump in Utah Lake, hike the Y, etc.
B and I really (like really really) wanted to win that dumb scavenger hunt.
So what did we do?
Jumped in Utah Lake.
It was so freezing I wanted to die.
But we did it, you guys!
 And great news, WE WON!!!
Jk.
We FREAKING DIDN'T WIN.
2 other couples jumped in the lake too...and 1 couple ran 2 miles!
I'm like, what?! WHAT?!

But whatever. We at least got 3rd place and a gift card to Cold Stone.
So I guess it was all worth it.
And seriously, it was so funny.
B and I were laughing the whole 40 minutes.
We took so many pictures with strangers and probably broke the speed limit way too many times.
And B couldn't take a picture of me in the lake for some reason...our camera was acting weird.
I kept dunking myself in the lake and he kept saying "I didn't get it, do it again!!"
And I'm all, "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!!!"
Hahaha....such good times.

I hope you all had a happy and safe Halloween!

California with B-man.

There is seriously (seriously) nothing I love more than going on vacations with B.
I've always been the kind of person that has things scheduled, and being late is a no-no, and no way am I gonna NOT have a plan.
But then I married Mr. Chill over here and my life has never been better.
Do I still schedule my life? You know it.
But do I die if I'm 5 minutes late to church? No way Jose.

So what I'm saying is this.
Vacations with Lover Boy are just spur of the moment and we do whatever the heck we want, whenever the heck we want.
Sometimes it backfires.
Like, we shouldn't have tried to get tickets to the Dodgers vs. Angels game 5 minutes before it started. Ya...we didn't end up seeing that one.
And we eat way too late at night because we don't think about getting food until we're starving and neglect to remember wait times (argh!).
But mostly it is just pure bliss.
We wake up when we want to, sleep on the beach till we're bored, eat as much icecream as we want, shop till we drop, cruise around and find celebrity houses while jamming to music, buy cool boogie boards because B is a professional, and eat all the peach samples at the farmers markets so we don't actually have to buy a peach. (is that legal?! or ethical?! Like, can you sample all the icecream at cold stone and leave without actually buying any cold stone?!)

Buuuut ya.
B and I always try to make it to California for a few days in the summer.
It's our favorite place and makes us happier people!!
So it's 100% necessary.
Necessary like how dry shampoo is necessary.

And side note: I cooked tonight.
Like boiled my own potatoes and mashed them, type of cooking.
I'm so proud of myself I could die.
And when B got up and got serving number two, I acted like it was no big thaaaang. But inside...hello hallelujah chorus of 50,000 angels singing.

California with Nik

Stick with me here as I catch up on some blogging!
I've been bad (so bad!) at staying on top of this loving blog of mine.
So don't mind these pics of warm, sunny summertime even though it's Fall.
oh fall. My favorite. (and apparently everyone else's favorite too...uhhh, how you say #sweaterweather)
Now.
A few months ago, I went on a road trip to California with my parents and niki.
We, A) watched Nik compete in Jr. Nationals. Little kid got 4th. FOURTH! In. the. nation.
or maybe it was 6th, heck, I can't remember..it was a long time ago! but probably 4th.
and B) hang out on the beach, duh.
and C) go to a cousins wedding.
We drove, alot.
like, alllll over California.
But it was so fun and I loved spending time with my family!
The only thing that was missing was my boo thang.
B had homework and school (which gets a big ol' thumbs DOWN in my opinion).
But it is what it is, right?
Oh! and I literally (like literally) completely busted my phone right before we left on the trip.
It was donezo and died a sad and tragic death.
So, I was that annoying person that was always asking my fam, "hey, you using your phone right now? cuz I gotta text B!"
But they were nice and always let me borrow their phone so I wouldn't die. like my phone.

So ya.
Beach day was my favorite.
And my dad was a complete GEM.
He was all, "girls, this is your day. I'll drive you where ever you wanna go and do whatever you wanna do"
So we laid out on the beach (while he read his book and listened to music).
Then went longboarding (while he read his book and listened to music).
Then we interrupted his reading to make him take pictures of us, eat lunch with us, and shop with us.
Hi dad, you freaking rock.
Thanks for such a fun day!

^^reading his book, listening to music, and getting an awesome tan.
^^taught him everything he knows.

^^she's the cutest little thing. I love her, so much! So glad I have her as a sister and bestest friend.
Lucky freaking me.
