MEH!

After running 5 miles and dancing on an ankle that already hurt for some mysterious reason, my mom forced me to go to the doctors. According to her, "you won't ever stay off it unless a doctor makes you". Well...I went to the doctors. I guess I stretched a ligament and I can only walk on it for the next month. I just looked at the doctor with wide eyes after he told me that. Does he realize that I'm an exercise junkie and a dance teacher? Uhh....nothing but walking for a month??...that ain't happenin' doc! I actually told him that. I think I said something along the lines of "dancing is my lively-hood, how am I supposed to EAT?!" He didn't think that was funny. He told me he would put me in a boot if I couldn't control myself. Whaaaaat?! A boot for a swollen ankle? That is unheard of people! After much discussion - which was really just him lecturing me about staying off my ankle ( I think he could tell that I wasn't taking his "doctorly advice" very well) - he and I settled for this little cutie....

Seems a little over kill, I know.  I've only worn it once and my ankle is still buggin'. Obviously I need to stop being so stubborn and admit that my poor ankle needs a rest! But while I'm still refusing to give my ankle the time it needs to heal, will someone please answer this question for me? Why is it that when the doctor office looks like this...

...it still takes me a solid 20 minutes to see the doctor?! Unreal.

Tennis anyone?

While in St. George, my family played tennis a couple of times. I thought I was pretty good, take a look and tell me what you think! :)

How's my form?

How's my game face?

How's my whiff?? Or I guess you can say whiffS.

How's my face lookin' right after my mom hit me square in the eye with a speeding tennis ball while I was looking at my camera?

Okaaaaaay. So I sucked! Tennis is obviously not my forte :). I don't know how my mom managed to capture so many terrible pictures of me, but she did. I need to learn some serious skills from these pro's...

Ha! I wouldn't call my mom a "pro" but she DID manage to aim right for my face and nail it spot on...so sure! That's pro worthy skill in my book.

Tennis with the fam = priceless. I didn't even mind everyone making fun of me. It takes talent to be as terrible as I was, pure talent.

Best Trip.

My family booked it down to St. George this weekend for some BIG things...

BIG thing #1 - BABY!!! The parentals decided on a name for this little bugger. Maylie Nicole Laws. Adorable, right?

BIG thing #2 - My handsome, amazing, hilarious brother Ryan not only had a baby this weekend, but he was also ordained an Elder on Sunday. So much joy and many, many tears filled that room, it was such an incredible event. I'm so proud of that kid and I sure do love him to pieces.

I love road trips and this one was extra special. I hope you all had a splendid weekend!

Delivery from NYC!!!!!

Guess who's in town?????

We have celebrated her short trip home by... going to Raging Waters, blasting music and singing in the car, Lagoon day, late night In 'N Out trip, renting the JB movie and never watching it, laughing until we cry, and going to get ice cream (we actually haven't gotten ice cream YET, we're going 43 minutes ago...I think she's asleep).  Love when Lachelly comes home to visit :)

BOOM. Roasted.

OK...this picture makes me look like a wimp 'cause I don't look that burnt. But trust me, my shoulders are on fire. I've resorted to loosened bra straps and baggy shirts to relieve my pain.  I sure am hoping that my extra use of Aloe Vera will turn this burn into a sexy tan!...not a peeling mess.

Love Note.

I might have accidentally left my gum on the sink. I don't think Kaniki was very happy about it. I sure am missing her while she's at youth conference. Can't wait to give her a loving smack on the booty for her loving love note to me this morning. Funny, funny girl.

Revealed.

My undercover profession is a hair cutter. Psyche! Except for Nik really thinks that I am. For some strange reason she always asks me to cut her hair. Honestly, I don't know why. Who wants someone to cut their hair that has NO experience, what so ever?! According to her "every time you cut my hair it's a new adventure!" Well...I do not think it's fun. At all. It stresses me out actually. It takes me 3 times as long as it should, and we have to style it, then re-cut, then thin it, then restyle it again, then cut some more, and...you get the picture, it never looks as good as I want it too. Oh well....as long as I can help Nik have more "adventure" in her life, I guess I'm willing to oblige to her ridiculous requests.

Finished product: Good thing she makes anything look good, and good thing she just wanted a trim.

The mother made us do it outside. I guess we're messy or something...

The best balloon fest ever.

Sometimes my family goes to the balloon fest in Provo and it's loads of fun. However, today was especially great. That's because when we got there, the balloons looked liked this...

But then the wind made them do this...

And the people started to jump out of their tipping baskets like this...

And this crazy man...

Started yelling at everyone to "get out of the way!" so they didn't get squished by the balloons like this...

....so help me if you get squished by a parachute as heavy as a feather.

Then kids started jumping on the deflating balloons like this...

And that was the end of the balloon fest. The whole thing lasted a total of 5 minutes and I'm so glad we were there to witness the hilarious sight. I wish my pictures did the experience justice, but Nik and I spent most of the time observing and laughing instead of snapping photos. It was a priceless sight to see people frantically hauling chairs, children, blankets, etc so they wouldn't get attacked by the balloons :). I hope you all had a great 4th of July today, I know me and Nik sure did.

Fireworks.

Every year for the past 5 or 6 years, my family has gone up to the Durrant's property to watch the Stadium of Fire. It's the best! We have the best seat in town. I'm sure it's great inside the stadium, but I'm convinced the show is better while eating tons of goodies, playing in the grass, and lounging on a blanket in the shade with friends and family.

I kid you not when I say that I have 60 pictures worth of fireworks on my camera from last night. I mean they're cool, but not THAT cool. It's just that my mom kept saying "Oooo! Get that one!" every 5 seconds, and "Ah you missed a good one, be ready!", and "why did you take a picture of an ugly firework, get one like THAT, hurry!".  Eventually I gave up and just handed her the camera. But then words just flew out of my mouth like "Nice one mom! Keep going!" and "Did you get that one?!" I couldn't help myself... hence the millions of terrible (most of them turned out bad) firework pictures I have. It sure was fun though :)
